Corona measures
Glad to see you!
We have worked hard to make your museum visit as smooth and safe as possible. To this end, we have taken a number of measures. Read below what this means for your visit.
Before your visit
Buy your ticket in advance, so you’re sure to get in.
Online tickets
To limit the number of people in the museum, you’ll have to choose a time slot. Show up within the half hour indicated on your ticket. For questions about your reservation or to make a reservation by phone, please call +32 9 210 10 75 (weekdays 9:00–17:00).
Avoid bringing bags or backpacks. The cloakroom of the museum is only on request.
During your visit
It is obligatory to wear a mouth mask (12+).
If you prefer to read your visitor guides on a smartphone, they are available via www.designmuseumgent.be/en/tours. There is free wifi in the museum.
There are toilets for museum visitors. They are cleaned regularly.
Keep a distance of 1.5 m from other visitors and the museum staff. We have planned a route for you.
Use the alcohol gel provided.
Any payments in the museum or shop should be made cashless and preferably contactless.
How to protect yourself and others?
- Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water
- Cough or sneeze in a paper handkerchief or in the inside of your elbow
- Use paper handkerchiefs and dispose of them in a lockable wastebin
- Stay home if you’re sick
- Touch your face as little as possible with your hands
- Avoid giving hands
- Avoid close contact with others who are ill
Do I have to order a ticket if I can enter for free?
Preferably, in order to spread the flow of visitors. We have separate free tickets for visitors with a museum pass, with a VMV, ICOM, guide or press card, with a laissez-passer, for accompanying persons with disabilities and for citizens of Ghent on Sundays.
What about guided tours?
Guided tours are not allowed at the moment, but you can book tours for later in the year. Did you book a guided tour before the measures? Then you have already been contacted personally in regard to your tour. For questions about our guided tours, please contact our booking service BoekjeBezoek at boekjebezoek@stad.gent or +32 9 210 10 75.
